Location, location, location! How to choose the best location for your dogs photoshoot
Yay, you've booked (or are considering to book) a time and date for a photo session with your dog/s! That's very exciting! But now the big question of the WHERE lingers...
Some of my clients know exactly where they want to go, others aren't quite as sure. I'm always happy to suggest locations. In this blog, we'll dive a little deeper into some of my favourite photoshoot locations in and around Aberdeen.
Forests and Woods
If you and your dog love forest walks, then a photo session in a forest or wooded area could be a great option for you! From lovely lush greens to beautiful autumn colours - woods have their charm whatever the season.
To name a few options around Aberdeen: Bennachie Woods, Kirkhill Forest, Hazelhead Woods

Hills and Mountains
Are you and your dog more the adventurous types, love hill walking and the stunning views across the countryside? Fabulous! I love the hills any time of the year. Think of heather in bloom, autumn colours, or snow-covered mountains...
Some of our local hills are of course Bennachie and Clachnaben, but I am also happy to travel into the Cairngorms or further afield.

Beaches
Is your dog water mad and loves playing in the sand? With beautiful endless views of the sea, sand and dunes, beaches have plenty of variation for backdrops as well.
Some of my local favourites are: Balmedie Beach, Newburgh Beach and Aberdeen Beach

Country Parks and Estates
Looking for a really versatile location? Country Parks or Estates might be the location for you and your dog. From beautiful architecture to manicured lawns, ponds and woods - Estate Parks have it all!
My favourites in Aberdeenshire are: Haddo House, Dunecht Estate and Castle Fraser

Other great locations
It doesn't have to be one of the above locations! We can of course also stay around your home and gardens (as long as you have a nice space, without too many distractions to work with). Sheds, fences and other interesting textures can be great in photographs. As well as grain fields (with the farmers permission) or just a plain lawn.

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog and looking through the photographs. Please get in touch if you would like to know more about my dog photography session and how I can help you create beautiful images of your dog. I would love to hear all about your furry friend!
Lots of Love
