Successful BIPP Regional Awards
I AM NOW OFFICIALLY AN AWARD-WINNING PHOTOGRAPHER
Successful BIPP Regional AwardsIn July this year, a couple of us Aberdeen photographers travelled down to Edinburgh to attend the British Institute of Professional Photography’s Regional Awards Ceremony.
Our journey didn’t go without hiccups – we decided in advance that it’d make more sense to take the train rather than driving. Great idea, until we somehow decided we were going to Glasgow instead of Edinburgh…
Here’s us sitting on the train half an hour from Glasgow, checking where we need to be and coming to the realisation that we are heading the wrong way. We did see the funny side of it and had a good laugh.
Once we arrived in Glasgow continued our journey to Meow Studio’s in Edinbrugh by Taxi and managed to get there in time for the awards. To much excitement for a Sunday morning!
Back to the main event. It was nearly a little bit intimidating being in one room with some of the best Scottish photographers and have my images judged against theirs.
I entered two images this year and I was absolutely delighted and over the moon that my image of the ‘Runaway Bride’ won an award in the self-commissioned wedding category. Both entered images were also awarded Merits and have been automatically entered into the national print competition.
