Tell us a little bit about yourself and your business.
As an executive coach and trainer based in the beautiful Northeast Scotland, I have the privilege of working with clients worldwide. My focus is on empowering leaders and aspiring leaders within organisations to achieve their full potential.
My mission is to be a trusted partner to these leaders, guiding them toward success and helping them make a positive impact on their teams and communities. I’m committed to fostering self-awareness, self-discipline, and confidence in the individuals I work with, as I understand the transformative impact of creating supportive and fulfilling work environments.
What is the most memorable/exciting thing that has happened in your life/business recently?
One of the most exciting recent developments in my business was witnessing a client I had been working with for some time successfully lead their team through a major transformation.
The sense of accomplishment and the positive impact this had on the entire organisation was incredibly gratifying. It reaffirmed my passion for what I do and the importance of investing in people’s personal and professional growth.
What excites you most about your job?
What I love most about my job is the opportunity to see the remarkable growth and transformation of individuals and organisations. Being a catalyst for positive change and helping my clients reach their full potential is immensely fulfilling. The joy of seeing my clients thrive, both personally and professionally, is what fuels my enthusiasm and keeps me dedicated to this profession.
What inspired you to become a business coach?
My motivation to become a business coach comes from a profound appreciation for the power of positive and enriching work environments on an individual’s well-being.
I am passionate about enhancing cultures, where everyone has the chance to feel deeply valued, to continually grow, and to contribute to fostering a positive atmosphere for their colleagues. This passion is what led me to embrace coaching – to assist leaders and aspiring leaders in cultivating such environments, and to collaborate with them as a supportive partner on their path to success.
What do you believe are the key qualities or skills that make a successful business owner, and how do you help your clients achieve these?
Successful business owners possess qualities like vision, resilience, effective communication, adaptability, and a strong sense of purpose.
In my coaching, I help clients develop these qualities by providing personalised guidance, setting clear goals, and implementing strategies tailored to their unique needs. By fostering self-awareness, self-discipline, and confidence, I support them to become more effective leaders and achieve their goals.
What are some common misconceptions people have about business coaching, and how do you address them?
One common misconception is that coaching is only for businesses with major challenges. I address this by emphasising that coaching is equally valuable for successful organisations looking to reach their next level of achievement.
Another misconception is that coaching is a one-size-fits-all solution. I make it clear that my approach is highly individualised, focusing on the specific needs and goals of each client.
You had a brand photo session with me, did you enjoy the experience?
I genuinely enjoyed the brand photo session. It was a fantastic opportunity to capture my professional identity and personality in visual form. It added a personal touch to my business presence, and I’m excited to use these photos to connect with my audience.
How are you using the photos in your marketing?
The brand photos are an integral part of my marketing strategy. They will prominently feature on my updated website (under construction!). They are already featuring on my social media profiles, and promotional materials. The images convey authenticity and professionalism, enhancing the way I connect with my clients and potential clients.
What would you say to people who are on the fence about brand photography?
I would strongly encourage them to take the leap!
